Stroop Test

First Part Instructions

In this test, select the color of the word written in black as quickly as you can. You will see a word, and below are five color options. Click the color that corresponds to the word. There are 25 cards in total.

WHAT IS THE STROOP TEST

The Stroop Color-Word task is a well-known attention and inhibition challenge. Reading words is highly automatic, so when ink color conflicts with word meaning, your brain must suppress the “wrong” impulse and follow the rule instead.

WHAT IT MEASURES

Reaction time: speed of decision-making under pressure

Accuracy: error rate, especially during interference

Attention control: staying consistent when distractions increase

Stroop effect: performance drop from Stage 1 to Stage 2

HOW TO READ YOUR RESULTS

Average reaction time reflects your overall consistency. Minimum and maximum times show best-case speed and moments of hesitation. Stage 2 performance usually matters most because it contains the interference.
